Feed salt, also known as agricultural salt, is added at feed- and premix plants to ensure that animals get the correct amount of salt. Feed salt serves as a raw material for industrially produced feed mixes or as a ready-to-use feed supplement.
Lickstones, or licking bricks, play an important role as a simple and inexpensive mineral supplement for animals. The animal will lick the stone according to its needs and thus absorb salt. Eurosalt lickstones are available in 10kg, pure or supplemented with minerals and trace elements.
Agricultural salt is not only used for feeding animals, but also in agricultural applications. Think of mowing grass for a winter stockpile. This winter stock has to be conserved. This is done by ensiling the grass. Sometimes, agricultural salt is used as a cheap but effective preservative.
