Euro-Rijn strengthens its position in inland shipping with a stake in Elbe Rijn Lloyd
The Euro-Rijn group has acquired a participation in Elbe Rijn Lloyd B.V., an experienced charterer of inland vessels. With this strategic investment, Euro-Rijn further strengthens its position in the inland shipping sector and further expands its network and services across Europe.
Elbe Rijn Lloyd, at Ridderkerk (The Netherlands) is renowned for its expertise in chartering inland vessels, focuses on bulk cargo and special transports on the Rhine, the German channels and Eastern Europe waterways. Besides bulk goods such as fertilisers, coal, and grain, as well as general cargo like non-ferrous metals and bagged goods, Elbe Rijn Lloyd is also specialised in the transport of project cargo, construction materials, and heavy lifts. For this, they have a fleet of 40 vessels flying the Dutch flag, as well as special vessels from Germany, Poland, and Czech Republic at their disposal.
The investment underlines Euro-Rijn's ambition to further optimise its transport services. The participation will create a strong bundling of forces, which will lead to better service to customers in the field of inland shipping logistics.
Both parties are looking forward to a successful partnership, as they continue to grow and innovate in inland shipping logistics.
