Moerdijk, October 11 2022
At the end of September 2022, Euro-Rijn Group completed a number of important acquisitions. These acquisitions strengthen the logistics position of the bulk logistics division as well as of the group’s retail logistics division.
Oorburg Intermodaal and AquaRoad Logistics:
Euro-Rijn takes a 75% interest in Oorburg Intermodaal BV and AquaRoad Logistics BV with retroactive effect to 1st January, 2022. Oorburg Intermodaal specializes in inland shipping logistics and has the knowledge and connections to deliver the desired product completely from door to door delivery. AquaRoad Logistics provides optimal and efficient transport of bulk goods and project cargo over all European Inland Waterways.
Due to the many changes in inland shipping logistics, Euro-Rijn has decided to broaden its support base in this area. With the companies Oorburg Intermodaal and AquaRoad Logistics, Euro-Rijn can, as always, a cargo charterer, rely on a large fleet of approximately 50 to 60 barges (from approximately ca. 600 to 4.000 tons) and also the knowledge and experience in this field, will be further strengthened. This provides Euro-Rijn with new sailing areas and also more ship capacity for the various cargo packages that are transported over inland waterways.
Gäde Warehousing and Gäde Trucking:
Euro-Rijn takes over a 60% stake in Gäde Warehousing and Gäde Trucking with retroactive effect to 1st January, 2022. With this acquisition, Euro-Rijn is further expanding its services in retail logistics. The collaboration with Gäde, which was already there at Euro-Rijn XL Logistics Breda and Euro-Rijn Quality Services, will be further expanded and will lead to synergy in the deployment of personnel and equipment.
With these acquisitions, Euro-Rijn is further expanding its strong logistics position; an expected increase in annual turnover of approximately Euro 30.0 million and a good contribution to the results of the (break)bulk logistics and retail logistics divisions. Naturally with the aim of being able to offer customers a total solution and an even broader range of services.
